System Information

Information tabs

The Info center contains differently positioned information tabs, which the user can arrange optimally within the workspace if desired.

Log (protocol): contains system- and application-specific reports. Messages: contains various trading-specific information.

Context menu of the Output, Log, Messages tab windows.

Right-clicking on the columns within each of the tabs will open the following features:

  • Sort Ascending: sorts in ascending order

  • Sort Descending: sorts in descending order

  • Best Fit: adjusts the width of the selected column

  • Best Fit All: adjusts the width of all columns

  • Choose Columns: chooses which columns are to be shown in the tab

Log (protocol)

The Log tab displays all internal system messages, for example, memory problems caused by opening too many charts, tabs, the scanner, etc.

Log messages may be generated due to the following reasons:

  • login status messages

  • strategy problems

  • connection issues with your broker

  • memory issues

  • internet connectivity problems

To resolve a particular problem without needing to close TradersYard X there are several actions you can take, such as:

  • closing applications,

  • re-establishing the internet connection,

  • re-establishing the connection with a broker etc.

The Log tab contains the following columns:

Column

Meaning

Date & Time

Displays the time at which the message appeared

Source

Displays the reason for a message

Message

Displays the text message body

Right-click to open the context menu with the following two options:

  • Filter by Source: allows you to filter out or display particular reason categories for messages.

  • Export to MS Excel: exports messages into a CSV file.

  • Clear log: allows you to delete the content of the Log tab when searching for the error and make the overview clearer.

Example 1. Message: „Symbol: xxx - Because of a multi-target setup, no OCO connection can be set between the stop and targets“

From the 1.5.6.0 version of TX++ onwards we include OCO (One Cancels Other) orders into strategies as long as a broker can manage OCO orders or at least provide an interface for it. Please see our homepage for more detailed information. By submitting OCO orders you are better protected against Internet service interruptions or connection problems with your broker.

Once you have placed one target within TX++ you will see the OCO connection between the target and the stop.

However, if you enter a setup with two or three targets then as long as TradersYard X is disconnected your broker will not know exactly which target order should trigger the stop order. For this reason, your broker will submit a setup to the market without the OCO connection.

Should this happen, you will receive notification of this in the Log tab.

Example 2. Message: „You are running strategies with the pre-market data“

Messages

The Messages tab displays messages that describe specific user-defined settings (alerts, order rejections, etc.) but not errors or other messages caused by the system.

The message tab contains the following columns:

Column

Meaning

Date & Time

Displays the time at which the message appeared

Source

Displays the reason for the message

Message

Displays the text message body

Right-click to open the context menu with the following two options:

  • Filter by Source: allows you to filter out or display particular reason categories for messages.

  • Export to MS Excel: exports messages into a CSV file.

Server Messages

Sometimes the TradersYard X Teams sends out important information via a Server-Message. Such information can be addressed to specific users, specific groups of users, or to all users.

Based on the Importance of the Server-Message you will either see them - just in the server message list - with a yellow blinking status bar field - or with a red notification popup
